PRESIDENT AND SENIOR PARTNER

Glen Steinman, President and Senior Partner of Seema, specializes in business development in Asia and North America.   Since co-founding Seema in Hong Kong in 1994 with his U.S. based Co-Founder, Mike Mazzoni, Mr. Steinman has led Seema’s extensive consulting programs conducted for major multi-national companies seeking to grow their regional businesses.    

Mr. Steinman previously served in various senior management positions for companies with active business presences in Asia and the U.S.  His career began in 1982 with Monarch Import Company, the exclusive U.S. sales agent for Tsingtao Beer. Mr. Steinman was instrumental as General Manager and Senior Vice President in helping build Tsingtao into the most widely recognized consumer product from China sold in the U.S.  From 1992 to 1994, Mr. Steinman served as Vice President of a diversified Hong Kong trading firm, establishing four manufacturing joint ventures in China and serving as Chairman for two of them. 

Mr. Steinman speaks fluent Chinese had been a frequent public speaker at international forums.  He holds a B.A. in Chinese from Connecticut College, with further studies at Beijing University.

SENIOR PARTNER

Mike Mazzoni, Co-Founder of Seema specializes in acquisitions, distribution and business development.  He is also a leading expert on U.S. beer industry consolidation.  Since he joined Anheuser-Busch, Inc. in 1973, Mr. Mazzoni has held a variety of positions in sales, marketing and management.  He became General Manager of Barton Beers, Ltd. in 1983 and within four years he led the company to become the U.S.’s second largest beer importer. 

In 1987, Mr. Mazzoni became Barton Beer’s President after participating in a management buyout of Barton’s parent company, Barton Inc.  Since selling his interests in Barton, Inc. in 1991, Mr. Mazzoni has been working as a Consultant in the development and reconfiguration of distribution networks and internal reorganizations. 

Mr. Mazzoni oversees Seema’s North American projects and interests from his office in Lexington, Kentucky.  He has an MBA from the University of Missouri.

EXECUTIVE ASSOCIATE/CHINA

Guo, Lianpo, Executive Associate - China, commenced his association with Seema in 1997.  He leads Seema’s China project teams and in-country research from the Beijing office.  In addition, Mr. Guo provides assistance on Seema's business development advisory projects in China. He has served as a director and deputy general manager of a listed company in Shanghai.

Mr. Guo previously worked for the China Society for Strategy and Management Research and the China Aero Information Center in Beijing.

Mr. Guo graduated from the Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics in 1986 with a degree in Aerodynamics.

EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT

Jessica Chan, Executive Assistant, joined the Seema team in 2017, provides executive assistance to Glen Steinman as well as Seema’s Project Partners and Executive Associates. Ms. Chan is also responsible for Seema’s office administration and she is Seema’s primary contact with its clients and suppliers on accounting matters.

PROJECT PARTNER

Geanette Young, Project Partner, is the President of Seema Asia Limited an independent entity established in 2022 that specializes in customized data compilation and research analysis. Ms. Young original joined the Seema team in 2004 as a Research Associate and was Vice President from 2012-2022, during which time she led Seema’s research team and oversaw the compilation and analysis of customized industry data to facilitate the business development strategies of Seema’s clients. Ms. Young previously worked as a researcher for Diagonal Report of Ireland. She has also held positions at CNK Group (a Hong Kong based venture capital firm) and Ernst & Young. 

Ms Young graduated with an MBA from Manchester Business School in Great Britain. She also has a Bachelor’s degree in Business from Hong Kong Baptist University.

Patric Dougan, Project Partner, has a proven track record in all the major Asian consumer markets. Mr Dougan has extensive experience in significant cross-functional executive roles in the region since 2004. He has served in major MNC organisations ( Scottish & Newcastle and SABMiller), grown entrepreneurial business models ( Brewdog), and advised on many PE and VC transactions. Mr Dougan has particular expertise in the beverage industry, including beer (international premium, local, and craft), spirits and non-alcoholic beverages.

Drew Nuland : Specializes in China drinks industry brand and business development. Since 2006, Mr. Nuland has been advising Private Equity Firms, MNC's and other investors on their China business, specifically focusing on M&A, brand/portfolio strategy and route-to-market issues. Mr. Nuland previously launched then ran Bacardi's China operations for ten years during which time he was responsible for Bacardi's self-owned premium spirits brands and third-party distribution. He also oversaw in-country production and distribution of Bacardi's market-leading low-proof portfolio.

Andrew Muir (United Kingdom, Rome & Hong Kong): Specializes in acquisitions, market access, route to market solutions, creation and management of consumer brands, and engineering strategic equity positions in developing market companies.  Previously, Mr. Muir rose over a period of 22 years to Executive VP for Seagram’s with direct P&L responsibility for most Asia-Pacific markets.  He commutes regularly between Europe and Asia.

Stuart McGregor (Melbourne): Specializes in executive management with a distinguished, four-decade career in Australia’s beer and wine industries.  Mr. McGregor is currently Chairman of two Australian companies. He also has extensively public sector experience as Chief Executive of Tasmania’s Department of Economic Development and Resources and as Principal Private Secretary to two of Australia’s most eminent politicians when they were federal Ministers for Industry and Commerce.

PROJECT PARTNER/M&A AND VALUATIONS

Vincent Chong: Specializes in M&A advisory services and valuations, particularly in China-related transactions. Mr. Chong, a British-trained chartered accountant and a HK Certified Public Accountant by profession, has more than 20 years experience in the auditing and corporate finance business. He participated in numerous IPOs and corporate restructuring assignments including China-based enterprises, before he set up his own consultancy firms, QuestMark Capital Management and QuestMark Asia in 2006.

Mr. Chong served as an independent non-executive director of Harbin Brewery Group during the period from February 2002 to May 2003.
